King County GreenTools has pulled together an exciting lineup to launch the 2013 Sustainable Cities Roundtable Series theme: “Beyond Net Zero: Resilience, Regeneration, and Social Justice.” We are bringing visionary and on-the-ground leaders together to add real meaning to these ‘not just buzz words’ – particularly in how they relate to your role in creating a more sustainable built environment.
GreenTools Program Manager Patti Southard will kick off the event with an introduction to the thought behind the theme, crafted by your peers, and how it will relate to the Roundtables throughout the year. We’ll then turn the table over to special guest speakers, including Jason McLennan of the International Living Future Institute, Former Deputy Secretary of HUD and former King County Executive Ron Sims and Alex Wilson Founder of the Resilient Design Institute, to define the different elements of the theme through the lens of their expertise. This will be a fast-paced, engaging setup for the great dialogue between you, your peers and our guest presenters to wrap up the Roundtable.
Additionally, the 2013 Living Future host committee will be promoting this event as part of a series of community ramp-up events leading to the Seattle Living Future unConference and GreenTools Government Confluence, May 15-17. Each ramp-up event will engage unique community partners looking to inspire attendees as the excitement of Living Future approaches. Mark your calendar - details below!
